JOHN FOGERTY SINGING IN FRENCH

John Fogerty, Nick Lowe, Richard Thompson, and David Johansen are among the artists who will give Cajun music its due on a forthcoming compilation, Evangeline Made, A Tribute to Cajun Music, which is due March 5 on Vanguard Records. The artists -- which also include Linda Ronstadt, Linda Thompson, Rodney Crowell, Maria McKee, and Patty Griffin -- will sing traditional Cajun selections in French.

John will be singing the song "Diggy Liggy Lo" The song has previously been recorded by such artists as Buck Owens, The Nitty Gritty Dirty Band and Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen.

Just wondering how to spell "there's a bathroom on the right" in french? ;-)

BABY GIRL KELSY TAKING HER POP OFF FROM HIS DAY JOB

There's a new arrival at the home of Julie and John Fogerty. A baby girl, Kelsy Cameron Fogerty, was delivered at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at fourteen minutes after midnight, October 5th.

Weighing in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 19 inches, Kelsy Cameron joins brothers Shane, age 9, Tyler, age 8 and big sister Lindsay, age 16 in the Fogerty brood.

The delighted father, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame as the leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival and a platinum solo artist in his own right, reported, "Lindsay is delighted to have a sister because it evens the score." The man who made "Centerfield" the modern day successor to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame," went on to note "her brothers are ready to play baseball with her."

During the course of her pregnancy, Julie Fogerty, inspiration for John's song "Joy of My Life," kept the baby's gender a virtual state secret from John and the kids making the delivery all the more exciting. "Julie did a great job of keeping that secret and I actually thought it was going to be a boy right until Kelsy was delivered," John recounts. Daughter-father bonding, it seems, was instantaneously achieved. "After she was born, she immediately grabbed hold of my finger," says the beaming father who added, "she smiles a lot."

In order to spend more time with his newly augmented family, John is taking a few days off from his day job: writing songs for his first album for Dreamworks Records. The label recently released two catalog Fogerty albums, "Centerfield" and "Eye of the Zombie;" a new album is expected to come out sometime in 2002.

CCR 6 CD BOX RELEASE DELAYED?

According to Pete McMullen from Fantasy (in opposition to some rumors) the box will be released. But perhaps a week late. McMullen said: "There were some last minute editing things to do with the booklet".

Originally the boxed set release was announced for late October.

CD Now has the Boxed set advertised for issue on 23 October at $86.38 plus shipping.

JOHN FOGERTY DISCOGRAPHY

The album EARL SCRUGGS & FRIENDS
is listet now at our
John Fogerty - Discography.

Earl Scruggs recorded a new version of
"Blue Ridge Mountain Blues".
John contributes only as a singer,
he plays no instrument.

EARL SCRUGGS & FRIENDS

New Earl Scruggs album with John Fogerty is out:

A short review by Rich Kienzle:

As Earl Scruggs broadened his horizons into country-rock in the early 1970s, two albums much like this one appeared, featuring cameos from Bob Dylan, the Byrds, Linda Ronstadt, Joan Baez, etc. Now as then, the results are mixed. Sir Elton John renders a mature, definitive "Country Comfort." Dwight Yoakam's newly penned "Borrowed Love," "True Love Never Dies" with Travis Tritt, and John Fogerty's "Blue Ridge Mountain Blues" all honor bluegrass traditions. Vince Gill and Rosanne Cash ("I Found Love"), Marty Stuart ("Foggy Mountain Rock"/"Foggy Mountain Special"), and Johnny Cash with Don Henley (the eerie "Passin' Thru") are focused and flawless. The misfires are equally spectacular. Billy Bob Thornton's "Ring of Fire" doesn't bode well for his 2001 country album. Not only are Melissa Etheridge and Sting out of their element, their overwhelming performances relegate Scruggs to the distant background. Likewise, his signature instrumental "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" buckles under the weight of 10 guest pickers including Steve Martin and Paul Shaffer. All-star tributes can be a bear to manage. Given that reality, 8 out of 12 ain't bad.

08/ 13/ 2001:

FANTASY CCR 6 CD BOX TROUBLE ON THE RISE?

Possibly there will be some anger concerning the planed 6 CD CCR-Box.
According to hob.com FANTASY INC. claims that "the new disc package was assembled with the consent and blessing of all living former bandmembers".
But Bob Fogerty disputes that.
Bob should have said "As of right now, I don't think John is aware of the box set. I know I wasn't."
A publicist for Fantasy remarks: "Given the history of tension the label has had with John, we wouldn't want to do anything to aggravate the guy."

08/ 10/ 2001:

UPCOMING FANTASY CCR 6 CD BOX

A 6-CD Fantasy boxed set containing CCR's classic platinum albums as well as a disc of material by earlier incarnations of the group, is now in preparation and due in stores by late October.

The package kicks off with four tracks by Tommy Fogerty & the Blue Velvets, circa 1961; then segues into the mid-'60s Golliwog era, with 12 tracks originally released as singles for Fantasy's Scorpio label and eight more making their first appearance on record. Disc 1 was assembled and annotated by East Bay-based historian and producer Alec Palao (who most recently co-produced Rhino's "Nuggets II" box). "Call It Pretending," the first single released under the name Creedence Clearwater Revival (1967) and their last for Scorpio, opens Disc 2, followed by le deluge: the seven original albums ("Creedence Clearwater Revival," "Bayou Country," "Green River," "Willy and the Poor Boys," "Cosmo's Factory," "Pendulum," "Mardi Gras") and two live albums ("The Concert," recorded in 1970 and released in '80; and 1971's "Live in Europe"). Also included are several rare promotional spots and an essay by Ben Fong-Torres.

Everything in the box has been mastered in analog utilizing JVC's 20-bit K2 Super Coding System.

Check out the available CCR albums mastered in analog utilizing the 20-Bit K2 Super Coding System at FANTASY.

JOHN FOGERTY GOING TO BE DADDY AGAIN II

Fogerty's wife and children know what the sex of the baby is, but John himself wants to be surprised.

JOHN FOGERTY GOING TO BE DADDY AGAIN

Julie and John are expecting their third child on Oct. 10!

Meanwhile, John's been writing new songs for his debut album for DreamWorks Records, which does not have a release date yet.

[Source: CDNOW]

So what comes first, the album or the baby?

According to someone who alleges to be related with the family "the new CD and the new arrival in the Fogerty household will take place about the same time".

In opposition to this source we've heard that Bob Fogerty told Peter Koers there will be no new album until 2002.

07/ 30/ 2001:

JOHN FOGERTY & EARL SCRUGGS

The release date of "Earl Scruggs & Friends" is August 28.

REISSUED JF-CD'S FROM DREAMWORKS

We here it nearly every day: another "Digital Remastered" CD is out.
But often those CD's are not worth to buy them.

How about CENTERFIELD and EYE OF THE ZOMBIE from Dreamworks?

In our humble opinion:
GO AND GET THEM! The qualitiy of the CD's is much better than of the original Warner releases.
You don't need a "High End HiFi Equipment" to hear the difference. The dynamical band-width is absoluteley impressing!

04/ 12/ 2001:

JOHN FOGERTY.COM / DREAMWORKS RECORDS

There are changes on John's Website!
- CENTERFIELD and EYE OF THE ZOMBIE will be reissued by DreamWorks Records April 24, 2001.
- John Fogerty is definitively preparing a new album for DreamWorks Records.
- A John Fogerty Mailing List is established. You only have to enter your e-mail adress an click on the "JOIN"-button.

JOHN FOGERTY REPRISE WEB-SITE

The PREMONITION Web-Site by Reprise Records is still existing!

Although Reprise does'nt link the page any more they have not deleted it.
Only the Fan Forum seems to be not available.

A scandalous and totally unprofessional behavior of Reprise Records to hide a website of an artist.

Even if they only had the chance to produce and sell ONE John Fogerty album!

03/ 10/ 2001:

WORLD WIDE CCR & JOHN FOGERTY FANCLUB DISSOLUTION

The Fanclub will stop all it's acvtivities with the publication of the forthcoming and last fanclubissue number 51.

Peter Koers, founder and president of the fanclub since January 1981, noticed this decision at the Fanclub-Hompage where he explains his reasons too.

If this really will become true it will be a big loss for all of us fans!

We really hope that Peter Koers, author of two CCR-Books, will take care for the world wide CCR fans further on!

01/ 22/ 2001:

The official John Fogerty-Website (Premonition) by Reprise Records changed.
It only says "a new Website is comin soon". It seems that the new site will not be maintained by Reprise Records. John is not any longer listed at the Reprise-Pages as an "Artist".
New Website, new album??? Who knows. Stay tuned! ;-)
